The Message, the Lesson and the Gift
Three phases of an insight, a relationship or an event.
In the course of a day, we all have experiences that are both wonderful and challenging. It might be helpful to approach these moments with an eye to what is being offered. Not just the moment, but what it brings as far as the opportunity for greater depth and texture that might be integrated into awareness and comprehension.
First, there is the Message: what the moment brings as far as information or experience. This moment has an inherent and intrinsic message. The core of what it brings as a messenger of something that delivers a greater spectrum of comprehension to the being who is processing and living this moment.
The Message invites us to slow down enough to truly experience what the moment is offering, rather than just enduring it or rushing through it. Most of us are so focused on getting to the (self-imposed) objective or goal, that we seem unable (or unwilling) to discover what the present moment may be offering. Instead of being destination driven, this “Now Presence” may result in a more fulfilling life journey.
Then, there is the Lesson: what may be gained or learned from the experience, sometimes challenging in its presentation. If we come from the perspective of a willingness to seek out and embrace this lesson, we often experience challenges in a way that brings compassion, not only to ourselves, but to others. Once the ‘lesson’ is perceived and understood, we can move on to the gift.
The Lesson reframes difficulty (even trauma) in a profound way. When the challenge becomes curriculum rather than punishment or bad luck, our relationship to discomfort shifts entirely. Victim consciousness is released. Resistance softens. It is possible to remember that the universe is not working against us, it is responding to us. There is also something important in the progression — you cannot discern the gift while you are still struggling to integrate the lesson.
At last, there is the Gift: what the moment has given to us. There is always something that has enhanced our ability to be fully present and bring a greater vista of understanding to us as individuals and by association, the collective consciousness of humanity at large.
The Gift is perhaps the most radical element of the three, because it asks us to trust that even painful or confusing moments carry something of value — not in a naive or dismissive way, but in a genuinely anything is possible orientation toward life and the infinite variety of moments we are ultimately grateful to experience along the way.
This is the basis of approaching our daily life with a vastly different approach that leads to a higher vibrational frequency emitted by our energy field. This in turn leads to a refined level of resonance in the field of pure potential and brings us to unlimited possibilities in what may be experienced in the next moment.
Today, look for the message, the lesson and gift. See what you may discover!
